About me
I am a fully qualified and accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and full clinical member of UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the professional Institute for Psychotherapists & Psychotherapeutic Counsellors working in the UK. I completed my original training as an Integrative & Humanistic Counsellor with the Bath centre for Psychotherapy & Counselling (BCPC), gaining an advanced level 6 professional Diploma (DipHIC) on qualification. Since then I have completed further training in the treatment of Complex Trauma, PTSD and Dissociation. I bring a wide variety of other personal and professional experience to my work, enabling me to offer my clients a range of therapeutic approaches within the context of a short or longer-term counselling relationship.
Based in the Greater Manchester area, I am happy to work in person with you on a face to face basis in my private practice rooms in Davenport Park (SK2) or remotely, either by phone or online according to individual circumstances, needs and personal preference.
I work with clients experiencing a broad range of personal issues including anxiety, depression, complex trauma and PTSD, stress, bereavement, grief and loss, eating disorders, poor self-concept and low self esteem. I support individuals dealing with difficult or life changing events and illness and those who feel lost and alone – helping them to reconnect, regain hope, and rediscover purpose and meaning in their lives. I also help those struggling with relationship problems, family conflicts and parenting concerns.
I am fully insured and in regular supervision. I invest a great deal in my continuing professional training and development. I am an ethical practitioner and comply with UKCP’s working Standards and Codes of Practice and with the requirements of my training organisation BCPC.
